Building under construction in Selby Milton Victoria

856 Selby Avenue (Selby Milton Victoria Project)

Rondo CLT is working to complete the build out of approximately 2,300 square feet of commercial space. The space will be transformed into a “mini-mall” concept and business incubator with seven open air stalls for local entrepreneurs and businesses. A small conference room will be available for 1:1 business technical assistance. Finally, a second location of Golden Thyme Coffee and Cafe will be located in the space serving coffee and pastries.

Tentative completion in summer 2024.

While we are not currently accepting applications for the space, you can add your name to a list of prospective tenants and receive updates about the project and upcoming availability. Email Felicia Perry, Economic Development Manager to add your name at felicia@rondoclt.org

1041 Selby Avenue: Historic Renovation

This historic building on the corner of Selby and Oxford is three stories and currently hosts Rondo CLT’s offices on the main floor, the City of Saint Paul Office of Neighborhood Safety on the second floor. Rondo CLT is working on renovating the lower level, which enjoys a private entrance that is ADA accessible. We expect to have space for up to 3 or 4 additional tenants needing office space or studios for businesses such as photography, podcasting or wellness-based services like massage and acupuncture.

Golden Thyme Presents: Sammy’s Avenue Eatery and Gravy Babies

The construction of the I-94 highway destroyed more than 300 predominantly Black-owned businesses. We recognize that the creation, retention and growth of BIPOC-owned businesses is essential to revitalizing the Selby corridor, creating avenues for community wealth, and reestablishing Rondo as an African American commercial district and cultural destination.

A key aspect of our reparative framework, Rondo CLT honors Black business owners by compensating them financially for their often-overlooked and under-resourced contributions. So, as Mychael and Stephanie Wright moved toward retirement after establishing and operating Golden Thyme Coffee & Cafe for nearly 25 years, we worked with them to create an innovative approach to steward their legacy and grow their brand.
